Free & Reduced Lunch

The online Free & Reduced Meal Application for SY11-12 is now available. The online version is identical to the paper application but is more efficient as the application is sent directly to the Central Office for processing. The link for the online application is posted on the GCPS homepage, the SNP homepage and the Free & Reduced webpage. The online version is available in both English and Spanish.

In past years, students were able to begin eating free meals as soon as they handed in their free/reduced-price lunch application. Due to changes in the federal guidelines, students are no longer going to be permitted to eat for free once they turn in their free/reduced-price lunch application. While the student’s application is pending, parents are responsible for providing the student with lunch or lunch money. ($1.25 for student breakfast, $2.25 for student lunch) No charging will be allowed. Applications can take up to 10 days to be processed and students will not be able to eat for free or at the reduced price until their application has been approved. The approval process will be much faster if parents apply online: www.gwinnett.schoollunchapp.com.

Please note: If students were previously eligible for free or reduced-price meals, their status will remain the same for the first 30 days. Every family that is on the Free & Reduced program must re-apply every school year.
