Each month outstanding students are recognized as "positive role models and goodwill ambassadors," the standard for the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Qualifications for nomination include leadership, citizenship, character, perseverance, school or community service and activities. Congratulations to these fine students!

Gloria Ananing
Gloria Ananing has taken leadership roles in Interact and African American Leadership Roundtable. She also belongs to Volunteer Club and National Society of Black Engineers. Her work ethic is outstanding, and she shows a true compassion for fellow students and teachers. She was nominated by Ms. Susan Neuman, a math teacher.
Rosalinda Escamilla
Rosalinda Escamilla takes personal responsibility for her education. She consistently asks questions and stays after school daily to get help from teachers. Her maturity is an example to others. She is a tenacious student, commits to working hard, and is a joy to teach. She was nominated by Ms. Melinda Byrne, an ESOL teacher.
Sharif Kazwah
Sharif Kazwah is the one student in Philharmonic Orchestra who stays and puts chairs & stands away every day. He stays late after concerts to help the teachers. His dedication and kindness are truly remarkable, and we sincerely wish we could clone him! He was nominated by Ms. Juana Alzaga, Orchestra teacher.
Hannah Nelson
Hannah Nelson is an outstanding student and leader in her class. She is a member of Blue Crew and Student Council. She is the Speaking Captain on the volleyball team and has played varsity all 4 years. She is a leader on the team that is going to State. She was nominated by Ms. Martha Cook, Arts Department Chair.
Isabelle Pinero
Isabelle Pinero is one of the best students in Marketing. She is always ready to tackle any job in the Depot, our school store. She is a self-starter, and doesn’t need to be asked to do tasks. She has a great attitude and a good rapport with other students. She was nominated by Ms. Sonya Neilson, Marketing Coordinator.
Courtney Richardson
Courtney Richardson impresses her teachers with her strong work ethic and good character. She is always well prepared for class and is a pleasure to be around. She never uses the activities she is involved in as an excuse not to perform at her highest abilities. She was nominated by Ms. Kathy Sanchez, a Social Studies teacher.
Francisco Rivera
Francisco Rivera’s hard work has led to his success in both school and his job. Because of his dedication and perseverance, in one semester he moved from ESOL I to ESOL II. He is an ‘A’ student who successfully juggles studying and working. He is an inspiration to his teachers. He was nominated by Ms. Amy Crisp, an ESOL Language Arts teacher.
Awet Woldegebriel
Awet Woldegebriel gives of his time to tutor other students and help out during class. He volunteers in nursing homes, festivals, and school events. He has given his time in Norcross Art Fest, library, Relay for Life, Fall Festival, and Curriculum Night. His volunteer work is admirable. He was nominated by Ms. Carol Potter, a Biology teacher.
