Each month outstanding students are recognized as "positive role models and goodwill ambassadors," the standard for the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Qualifications for nomination include leadership, citizenship, character, perseverance, school or community service and activities. Congratulations to these fine students!

Oscar Cruz is a very caring student who helps others. He tutors adults at his church and teaches them how to use computers. On his own volition, he created the La Voz website and is responsible for keeping it updated. He was nominated by Mr. Shawn Wilson, ESOL Social Studies teacher.

 

 


D’Aundria Driver is a leader in the classroom. She participates in FBLA and has placed in regional competition. She perseveres, even in adversity. Her family survived a home fire last fall. Most importantly, she is a person of good character and integrity. She was nominated by Ms. Jan Goddard, Technical Education Business teacher.

 

 


Selam Ghebru is a welcome addition to class. Her everyday smile inspires teachers and other students. Her dedication to do her best is reflected in the good grades she receives from the advanced courses she takes. She was nominated by Mr. Larry Swaim, Social Studies teacher.

 

 

 


Julie Gordon was elected Vice President of the Orchestra and never hesitates to do extra work. During Battle of the Bands, she organized volunteers and helped keep Ms. Bates sane! She goes above and beyond to be helpful, polite, and friendly. She was nominated by Ms. Allison Bates, Orchestra teacher.

 

 


Haillie Little is a disciplined student and conscientious individual. She is a leader in her lab group and in problem-solving groups. She is an example of what diligence and focus can do for one’s success in any endeavor—especially school. She was nominated by Mr. Alan Hayes, Physics teacher.

 

 


Desmond Morris has turned from a distraction into a leader, helping out without being asked, and encouraging other students in class to persevere and work hard. He demonstrates that hard work pays off by improving his class standing. He was nominated by Ms. Jennifer Johnson, Language Arts teacher.

 

 


Mayra Perez is a joy to teach. She always has a positive attitude, works hard, and is responsible. She is very talented in art and dance. As Vice President of La Voz, she has done great work this year. We appreciate her leadership. She was nominated by Ms. Martha Cook, Art teacher.

 

 


Nhu Binh Vo is an exemplary student. Her quality work demonstrates what a hardworking and dedicated young lady she is. She always displays a sweet, positive attitude. She is the first to volunteer when help is needed and always sets a great example in class. She was nominated by Ms. Lauren Gerba and Ms. Audrey Herron, Language Arts teachers.
