The Norcross High School website was designed and created by Blue Devil Inc. which is Mr. Chuck Sears' 2004-2005 Advanced Web Design class. The students were given a unique chance to experience creating the massive website for their school. The opportunity included presenting Mrs. Mary Anne Charron, the principal and Dr. Sharon Vansickle, the LSTC (local school technology coordinator), with a design document along with a portfolio of ideas for the website layout. Each student involved contributed their creative talents to put together this website.
Mr. Chuck Sears' 2004-2005 Advanced Web Design Class
This site was later re-designed towards the end of the 2004-2005 school year by a student in Mr. Chuck Sears' Advanced Web Design class named Edward Von Schondorf. He graduated in the 2004-2005 school year and is currently an amateur freelance web designer. He re-designed the site to test many new skills such as CSS and XHTML and implemented it into a new design that also contained many new features that the old site didn't have.
Features such as:
- An External Style Sheet (CSS)
- Using the XHTML coding style
- Integrating the site with a database provided by OnMyCalendar.com
- A completely different navigation system and layout.
This site has also been thoroughly tested in the latest versions of the Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers, and accomodates users who have their monitor resolutions set to 800x600 and above.
