Student Guidelines for Media Center use

  • Food and Drink are not permitted in the Media Center or Production Lab.
  • Hours of operation are posted in the Media Center.
  • All books, with the exception of reference books and books on reserve, may be borrowed for a period of two weeks and renewed as necessary. Reference books are available for media center use only.
  • Fines are charged for all overdue books. A fine of $.10 (ten cents) per book, per school day will be assessed on each overdue book. Students are responsible for clearing media center obligations as soon as they occur. All fines and overdue obligations should be cleared before students take exams each semester.
  • Students are not to be sent to the Media Center by substitutes or from disbursed classes. They are not to visit the Media Center instead of going to the cafeteria for lunch.
  • Printing of school related research information is free but there is a charge for individual student work such as papers or desktop published documents. A fee schedule is posted.
  • Books checked out to a particular student ID number automatically become the financial responsibility of the student assigned that number. Do not share your student ID number with friends.
  • Students needing to use projection equipment for individual class projects must reserve the equipment at the media center as far in advance of the presentation date as possible. It is advisable to bring the presentation in for a test run to ensure compatibility with the school’s equipment and applications.
  • Students are expected to abide by the GCPS Acceptable Use of Electronic Media Policy.
